DENTAL SERVICES ARE LIKE BUYING CLOTHES: WISE WORDS FROM DR. ELIZA YU

A patient of my mom once asked her: "Doc, ngano diay barato ang ubang dentista? Diba pareha ra man mo tanan?"
(Translation: Doc, why is it that other dentists offer cheaper prices? Aren't all dentists the same?)

Without letting a second pass, she immediately answered: "Kabalo ka, mura ra na siya'g mupalit ka'g sanina. Pag sa Mango ka mupalit, komportable na, ug mu last pa gyud ang sanina. Pero pag sa DCLA ka mupalit, barato lagi, pero dali ra kaayo maguba." 
(Translation: You know, it's like buying clothes. When you buy clothes at Mango, they're comfortable and they last for a lifetime. But if you buy at DCLA, (a place where clothes that're made in china are sold. No offense tho, this is not what i'm trying to emphasize and i'm also Chinese! So..) yes they're cheap, but they easily get ruined.)

My mom really loves clothes from Mango, to the point where she has to have a Mango paper bag with her every time she exits the store. And the moment i heard her say that, i was actually torn between literally laughing inside because my mom soooo loves Mango that she used it as an example for her analogy, and at the same time, amazed of her wisdom that she won the patient's trust right there and then. (I can't be more proud of her. *cries*)

What i'm just trying to tell you, my precious reader, is to be extra careful in choosing the right dentist to take care of your smile. Do not be deceived by low prices! Yes, i know, it's really enticing and tempting, but it's the teeth, one of the most exposed body part, that we're talking about here. The price may be cheap, but you don't have a single idea on what materials did the dentist use or place inside your much beloved mouth. 

One thing's for sure, my mom is definitely NOT ONE of those kinda dentists. Those other low cost dentists may have many patients, but look at their teeth. The secretary of my mom has a friend who wears braces for 2 years and still got minimal results, whereas mom's patients already got results as early as 1 month. (Well, what is 24 years of experience right?)
